Reflection 6

1.Discuss how technology tools can encourage students to be reflective and evaluate their own strengths. Students can use blogs, this allows them to put down their ideas and share them with others and then view them later to reflect and remember their thoughts. They can use Profiler PRO in which they create surveys for students to tae that allow them to assess their skills. Students are able to take these quizzes more than once so they can see how they have progresse throughout time. There are also other technology tools that students can use to assess themselves. By doing this, the teacher can then see the progress the students have made. 2.Describe several ways in which you can get students’ minds ready for a project. To get students ready for a project, it should be based on their prior knowledge and thinga that they know and are familiar with. Students should be given their topics ahead of time so they are able to talk with others and think about ideas and things that go with the topic. Also, you shuld engage the students in a way that will excite them and draw them into the project. 3.Discuss the elements of teaching fundamentals first. Students need to know the basics. The concepts shoud be broken up into smaller chunks and lessons ahead of time. This will let the student work on the project throughout a time period instead of hurrying around to get it done all at once. 4.Describe the important steps in preparing students for using technology in project. The important steps to preparing students for using technology in a project is a bg thing to consider. You should think about what tools are appropriate for the assignment, what do the students know how to do, and what they don't know how to do so that can be avoided. What will they need to know if they arent familiar with it. These are important things to consider. 5.Discuss ways to promote inquiry and deep learning. It is very important to engage the students and excite them about the project. For inquiry, teachers need to be very careful not to lead the dscussion and let the students figure it out collaboratively. With proper questioning and guidence, students will be excited and ready to learn and ecxplore deeper. 6. Discussion on how concepts in this chapter relate to you topic/project. The main thing that stuck out to me is that we read about how to get students ready and excited about the project. This goes along with our project because we can incorporate some of those ideas when coming up with our lesson plans.
